We live in the South-West corner of Broward County,
Florida, about 15 miles from the East coast shore line (and 20 miles North of
Miami.)
We moved into this home in 1997 and
these pages show our home and yard
from 1998 onward. Over the past years
we have planted a little of everything. The yard is small so we prune often to keep
plants small as well as replacing them frequently.

Soil is a problem for us - there is none. Under the grass is
crushed coral rock. Digging a hole and adding dirt was needed for each
plant we added.
Over the years the successful plants are our live oak, coconut,
mango, and palm trees, along with other vegetations.
We compensate for the poor soil with fertilizer and
irrigation. The lake provides a source of water for
our automated sprinkling system.
